Captain America: Brave New World is the 2025 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film that features Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) as the new Captain America. Plot summary
The film begins with Sam Wilson and Joaquín Torres (Danny Ramirez) retrieving a special compound called Adamantium in Mexico. They are later summoned to the White House by President Ross, who wants Sam to re-establish the Avengers. However, during a presentation, a brainwashed Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) attempts to assassinate Ross, causing a diplomatic incident.
Sam and Joaquín investigate, uncovering a plot involving the villainous Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson), who has been using mind-control tactics to manipulate others against Ross. As they race to foil the global conspiracy, Ross's own anger, fueled by Sterns's influence, causes him to transform into the powerful Red Hulk.
In the climax, Captain America battles Red Hulk, and with the help of his new Falcon partner, Joaquín, and a heartfelt plea involving Ross's estranged daughter, Betty (Liv Tyler), Sam convinces Ross to de-transform. The film concludes with Ross resigning and being imprisoned on the Raft, while Isaiah Bradley is exonerated and Joaquín is officially named the new Falcon. In a post-credits scene, Sterns warns of future threats from "other worlds".
